Do you have a medical issue?
How are your energy levels?
How is your mental and emotional health?
There was a time when my anwers to these questions were not good at all...and I was probably much younger than you.
My 20's had left me shattered emotionally. My 30's, I spent driving my body into the ground. At 40, people would tell me that I had the body of a 60+ year old.
I had an assortment of orthodepic shoes, knee, shoulder and ankle wraps, ice packs, anti-inflammation meds, tinctures and ointments. True story.
I couldn't keep up with my wife on vacations or even local day trips and hikes. It was this embarrassment and shame that motivated me to practice Qigong.
When I first starting looking on Youtube, I kept seeing this exercise called The 8 Pieces of Brocade. There were many versions and I found one that appealed to me. With a background in Tai Chi from my youth, it was very easy to follow along and learn quickly since many of the same principles apply.
I couldn't believe at how fast my backpain disappeared! It was maybe 2-3 weeks tops. The next thing to go was the extreme tightness and lack of flexibility in my hamstrings. It just wasn't there anymore.
I would notice how after I performed this 12 minute routine comprised of only 8 gentle and flowing movments, I would feel energized! No matter how stiff or emotionally low I felt in the morning, when I finished my practice, I had this calm but awake feeling. It was like a natural drug.
It took a few more months until I saw my knee pain and leg strength improve. By this time, I had the routine memorized and I was able to take it with me anyplace, anytime.
These days there are no orthotics in my shoes, no creams and tonics by my bedside and my ice packs stay in the freezer. I am completely pain-free mostly because of this 2000 year old classic medical qigong known as: The 8 Treasures, The 8 Silken Movements, The 8 Brocades.
In 2021, after years of studying it, I created a live workshop to really break down all the details of these 8 movements.
My goal was for anyone that just needed that 1 exercise routine to jumpstart their health, to be able to learn and implement it fast, cutting through all the confusion of learning their first and perhaps only qigong.
I call it, "LIVE LONG STAY STRONG!"
Long and Short Routines 12 min and 6 min versions that also include variations for injuries and ability levels.
